Gross Vehicle Weight
Commercial vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or greater, or which transport more than 8 passengers, or haul hazardous materials requiring placards, are required by Rule 19 of the Idaho Motor Carrier Rules to have an assigned DOT number. This number identifies the company.
Carriers that operate ONLY in the state of Idaho are considered Intrastate carriers. Commercial vehicle carriers that operate in and/or outside the state of Idaho are Interstate carriers.
