Wesley S. Russell, 17 years old, of Emmett, was traveling west on Vanderdasson Road in a 1997 Ford F150 pickup. Russell failed to negotiate a turn with suggested speeds of 30 miles per hour, and went off the roadway, hitting a telephone pole. The wires from the pole caught on his truck and flipped it onto its top into some trees. Russell was treated and released on scene for his injuries. It has been determined that Russell was texting at the time of the crash, and speeds were estimated between 50 to 55 miles per hour. Russell was wearing a seatbelt and the airbags were deployed. He has been cited for reckless driving. Idaho Power is currently working on replacing the pole, but it could be a several hours before the lanes are fully open and power is restored to the area. ------------- #end Spot what you think might be an impaired driver?
